Our Sandy Springs, Georgia office is seeking a Senior Process Engineer – Water/Wastewater to join our dynamic and growing team. In this role, you will lead technical efforts on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects, helping shape critical infrastructure that impacts public health and the environment. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, quality, and innovation, you’ll mentor junior engineers, manage project execution, and deliver sustainable, cost-effective process designs.
What You Will Do:
- Interpersonal Skills: As a senior technical expert, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers—to develop integrated solutions. You’ll build strong relationships with clients, junior staff, and regulators, using excellent communication to foster teamwork and project success.
- Innovation and Expertise: Design and optimize water and wastewater treatment systems including activated sludge, membrane filtration, disinfection, nutrient removal, and biosolids handling. You’ll use process modeling and simulation tools to troubleshoot challenges and propose data-driven improvements.
- Technical Mastery: Prepare and review technical reports, process flow diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and hydraulic profiles. You’ll lead or support permitting activities, pilot studies, and on-site assessments while ensuring engineering excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Manage the execution of projects from concept to construction. Mentor junior engineers, promote internal standards development, and ensure technical quality and innovation in every deliverable.
What You Bring:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance project design and implementation within a consulting environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Licensing: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in process modeling software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of state and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze system performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver innovative solutions that balance cost, performance, and sustainability.
