Bartow County Water Department
Bartow County, Georgia
PeoplesQuigley | DCCM partnered with Bartow County Water Department (BCWD) to successfully replace the State Route 20 (SR 20) Outfall Sewer from the Pettit Creek Trunk Sewer to the north side of Interstate 75 (I-75), along with a branch line crossing SR 20. This project addressed critical capacity and infrastructure issues, mitigating wet weather flow surges caused by leaks in the existing undersized sewer main.
Project Scope:
- Sewer Main Replacement: Replaced Sewer Main Line A (15,000 LF) with a 24-inch sewer and Line B (3,000 LF) with an 18-inch sewer to improve capacity and reduce leakage, as outlined in the Design Basis.
- Infrastructure Upgrades: Replaced manholes, reconnected services, and utilized jacking and boring techniques for crossings at CSX Railroad, US 411, Cline Smith Road, Polo Fields NE, Service Road, and SR 20.
- Temporary Measures: Implemented bypass pumping to maintain uninterrupted sewer service during construction.
Easement and Construction Considerations:
- While no new permanent easements were needed, temporary construction easements were secured to facilitate the work.
- Bidding: Contractors submitted proposals and evaluated on cost, experience, and availability to expedite project delivery.
This project highlighted PeoplesQuigley | DCCM’s expertise in resolving infrastructure challenges, enhancing system capacity, and delivering efficient, community-focused solutions.
